Book Review: Broken by David H Burton

Book Title:  Broken
Author:  David H. Burton
Genre:  Paranormal Romance

I have started asking myself, "Why'd I get this book?".  This one was the cover art.  Thank you Book Basset for sharing another great book.

I think it's simply human nature to want to disappear from our own lives for a short while, yet still have a sense that, maybe we could be doing what we wish we could.  Such as in the way of reading a book.  Finding new worlds, beings and visiting historical times.  Finding a little of yourself in a character and there you are...  in the land an author has created, seemingly just for you.  I quickly found that in "Broken".  If by anything, the Cover Art!

Katherine Gregory receives a certified letter from her mother, who has been dead for three months.  In this letter she finds out she's adopted and the reason for it.

Her roommate's brother, Christopher, has always seemed out of her league, the "tom boy" who doesn't think she's pretty enough.  Obviously he's very interested though and they begin a relationship.  But this letter changes everything.  It says she will die after her twenty third birthday - which is in three days.  Her mother even gives her the proof, dating back generations...

She realizes she must see her father's aunt, because her father died when she was a baby, and besides her little  brother, who doesn't believe her, the aunt could have the answers she's looking for, to hopefully save her life.

Christopher agrees and goes with her - off to the land of the Fey, Faeries, Nymphs, Changelings, Gnomes, Trolls....  IRELAND!

The plot kept me very interested as we meet many people, figure out the mythical beings and some of the folklore.  Learning who to trust and why.  Not to mention falling in love.

Great book to take a nice vacation from reality with, highly recommend it!
